Being from out of town and didn't know where to eat. Saw this and was like yes I need ribs. When I got to the place it looks like it's not on the best side of town and the bldg looks run- down but that's my jam. They were unfortunately out of ribs :( which I wanted badly but they still had tri-tip so we got the plate and sandwich along with the texas tots, corn on the cob and the BBQ beans. And oh man was this worth it. My boy had the plate and I had sandwich which neither one of could put it down and stop eating. I definitely recommend it.
Really reasonable prices and great portions especially in comparison to most of the other places on this portion of broadway– and so, so good. Literally, I would’ve included a picture of the sandwich I just had but I was so engrossed with eating it I didn’t even think about it before it was gone.
I ordered the tri tip and ribs, and it was so good! Will definitely be back to try other things here.
Still my favorite Rib Joint in Town!! Updating as of November 18, 2023...STILL my No. #1 "GO-TO" BBQ RIBJOINT! Learned today that T&R may not be with us much longer as the business is up for sale; so it's Now or Never on trying the BEST RIBS ever while they're still here...I'm going to be lost once they close for good, however, tonight feasting on a slab of BBQ juicy ribs, greens, Mac n' cheese, BBQ beans & Cornbread for dipping! Hop in the car and get over there!
Rodney treated me like family as soon as I walked in the door. Gave me a double portion of chicken on what I ordered and all the food was real homemade. I highly recommend this place and take a few minutes to talk to him, he is knowledgeable. May God bless you in Jesus name amen
The onion rings had amazing flavor. I thought I could finish the Tri tip sandwich but I was too full.. That BBQ sauce is superior
The food here is outstanding! The best BBQ in Sacramento. Everything is prepared and cooked to perfection. The pulled pork, ribs, tri-tip, chicken, hot links are delicious and tender. The fried okra is the best I've ever eaten. Mac n' cheese, sweet potato tots, regular tots, corn on the cob, greens and cornbread are all home runs as well. I'm not a huge fan of the potato or macaroni salads, but there's plenty of other food that I just can't get enough of! I'm telling you, try them all! Get the 4 way and taste four meats and four sides. It's a great deal and more than enough food for for people. If you haven't been here, don't wait another day! Food sells out early so get there as early as you can. They open at 11am on weekdays and noon on weekends. They have lunch specials during the week also. Don't forget the desserts they have in the fridge! Banana pudding, red velvet cake, peach cobbler and more southern favorites!
Probably the best BBQ restaurant I have ever been to in Sacramento area. They serve takeout only they did away with dining area during Covid and never restored it. I had the lunch special was three ribs and a hot link. The rib was great but had little to no smoke flavor. The house sauce was tomato based and sweet with a little bit of heat. I ordered the greens they were under cooked with no meat flavoring added, they could have been better. Coleslaw was very good. All in all it was a good meal the ribs and sauce made up for some of the lesser quality servings. Looking at the other reviews this place is very inconsistent on quality so I will update next visit. I have tried to eat at this place five times and three of those times it has been closed with no explanation.
